Clinton Illinois January 21 engineer William Argo of Clinton was killed Tuesday night when his engine collided with the caboose of an outbound freight at Guthrie east of town on the Springfield division of the Illinois Central. A Nebraska woman passenger named Smith also died instantly. The engine overturned after three cars were crushed. the fireman was uninjured.
Mrs. Sarah Hobbs aged woman dies in hospital after being kicked by Thomas Ferguson a prizefighter on January 14. He lived with her daughter and beat both women daily. he is jailed.
