Chicken thieves fire shots when discovered
Two men attempted to rob a chicken house on Washington avenue and fired three shots at the owner’s sow William Guyler. he returned fire and the men fled. A police search found no trace. Thieves also stole thirteen white minorcas from Mrs M E Caverly on Walnut street and eighteen chickens were stolen from L C Evans on Union avenue last week.
