Nutley reports a mix of local notes including a St Mary’s Lyceum smoker, audits of the Town Council, a children’s party for Sarto Connolly, and a Democratic meeting on Connolly’s Hall. Town residents face a street accident when a wheel came off Alvin Cunningham’s vehicle, while Nusley Improvement prizes honor top kept homes.
James Cogan, a night hosiery mill worker on Harrison Street in this town, was injured at four o clock Tuesday morning when his arm was torn from the socket by machinery. He died at Mountainside Hospital Montclair Tuesday night after an operation. He lived at 261 Franklin Avenue Bloomfield and is survived by a widow two sons and three daughters. A burial permit was issued by Deputy County Physician Simmons Orange.
Nutley marching club of the Fire Department to visit Nyack New York on Wednesday October 11 for the Firemen Parade. Drills nightly at Avondale Hose Company house. Robinson's Band of Paterson to accompany. About fifty Nutley men expected. A special Erie Railroad car chartered for the event.
Pauls Congregational Church invites worship with Rev Or Helming delivering morning and evening sermons. Morning service at 11 o clock and 7 45 o clock in the evening. Sunday School at 9 45 a m and 2 30 p m. Adult class on Paul and his letters led by W G Davis meets in the morning hour. Young Peoples Meeting at 3 p m on Sunday. Mid week meeting Wednesday at 8 p m.

On Sunday Rev. Wm. Stuart will preach on Periodical Piety at 7.44 p.m. Communion follows quadr... Sunday School and Bible Class at 9.45 a.m. Sons and Daughters of the King meet at 7.15 p.m. Prayer Meeting Wednesday at 7 p.m. led by Elder Barr.
Nutley Improvement Society hosts a successful afternoon card party at Nutley Club with eighteen tables. Prizes include a silk pillow and glass dishes. The Nutley A C defeats Belleville 11 0 and Nutley Juniors beat Ester A G C 12 0 in a hot, snappy weekend slate.
Mrs S Silverburg of Park Street West Nutley expresses thanks through the Nutley Sun to an unknown donor who sent six large bisque dolls to the Ladies Aid Society of St Pauls Congregational Church, received by express last Saturday.
The Trenton State Gazette states Governor Stokes, while not ruled out constitutionally, has declared he has no plan to oppose Fohin F. Dryden for the United States Senate when Dryden seeks re election.
The trunk sewer plan, set aside by courts on technical grounds in a Paterson suit, is expected to return before the next Legislature as Newark presses for progress. Also, state health inspectors report 25 percent of milk samples adulterated at seaside resorts, with 16 of 32 cream samples containing preservatives, prompting criticism of the Board of Health for delayed action during the summer season.
