Nutley notes record residents returning from Atlantic City Hollins Virginia Quogue and Greenwood Lake. council set for Wednesday the 10th. Local church events fundraisers and a fire at a nearby barn are also described along with a court case and upcoming bazaar at St. Marys parish.
The Ehemptya Council will entertain Orange Council on Monday night the event described as one of the best entertainments ever arranged under ecouncil auspices. The program includes refreshments and all town members are urged to attend and greet Orange Council warmly in return for Kempton Council hospitality a few weeks ago. Special invitation to all order members in town.
The Literary Section of Nutley’s Women’s Public School Auxiliary opens its season on Tuesday October 9 at 4 PM at Mrs. 3. Stuart Brown’s Maple Place residence. The program features The History of New Jersey from Earliest Times Through the Revolutionary Period with addresses by Mrs. G B Livingst on Indians of New Jersey and their Relations with White Settlers, and Mrs. J B Williams on Indian Relief and Remains in New Jersey.
On Sunday at 11 p.m. the Sacrament of the Lord's Supper and sermon by Rev. J. W. Morgan of Newark. Evening service at 7:45 p.m. by Rev. Horace Porter of Montclair. Sunday School at 9:45 a.m. Primary Department at 2:30 p.m. Young People's Meeting at 7 p.m.

The final meeting of the Convention Committee of Arrangements for the Exempt Firemen of New Jersey was held September 28 at Yantacan Chemical Engine Company. The treasurer reported receipts 1367.20 and disbursements 1117.06 with balance 250.14, and the committee agreed to transfer the balance to the Town Council and thank the Town Council for assistance. The committee's affairs were ended and future receipts to be turned over to the Town Council.
The Town Convention at Town Hall last Friday evening completed Republican nominations. Delegates from wards one to three selected George A. Hill as chairman and Alfred Wassall as secretary. Thomas S. Brown was named Town Council Chairman and Abram Blum as County Board of Freeholders member, with both men announcing they will seek their respective offices.
The Nutley Friday Afternoon Club met September 28 at Mrs. Rosenstock’s home. Mrs. Geo. B. Kines presented Historie Paris with warm appreciation. Mrs. Slaughter read Mrs. Riges’s paper. Mrs. Broad bent filled for Mrs. Rhoades and played La Marseillaise. Mrs. Curtis Wige spoke on the Life of Balzac. Mrs. Humphrey read The Valley of the Loire. A musicale is planned for October 12, and the next meeting is October 26 at Mrs. Slaughter’s Hawthorne avenue home.

Members of Yantacaw Engine Co and West Nutley Hose Co prepare for a planned trip to Elizabeth for the fremen parade. About fifty participants are expected, including Town Council and Exempt Wirements Association officials. A special trolley will carry the Nutley party to Elizabeth, with Grischs Band of Paterson providing music.
A Lecture Song Recital under Noueley Friday afternoon features songs of Burng by Mrs Henrietta Spewe Seeley. The event is Friday October 12 at 3 36 p m in St Pauls Congregational Church. The program includes thirteen numbers with traditional airs from the sixteenth and seventeenth centuries. Mr Juha Worth will preside at the piano.
Sunday services set by Rev. Wa Stuart, with two sermon topics listed, evening service at 7 46 and a midweek prayer alerting on Wednesday at 7 p m. The Sunday School and Bible Class are scheduled for 9 45 a m with a Sons and Daughters of the Ring event at 7 18 p m.
