Nutley graduate to take civil engineering post in Philippines

G. Roscoe Symonds son of Mr and Mrs G W Symonds of Grant Avenue leaves Monday for Spokane and San Francisco then sails for the Philippine Islands to serve as a United States government civil engineer. He plans to be away at least two years. He is a Nutley High School and Cornell University graduate.

Nutley Italians Organize New Figli d Italia Lodge

Nutley residents formed a new Figli d Italia lodge on Broomfield avenue on Thursday night naming Battista Falcone as the local head. The charter list shows 68 members with officers led by President Domenico Ciccone and Vice President Sabino Ciardi.

MISS M GRATH A FALL BRIDE

Miss Leonilda Beatrice McGrath daughter of Mr and Mrs Thomas McGrath of Walnut street and Grant avenue became the bride of Francis Lawrence Shields of Newark in St Marys Church. Rev Francis A Foy performed the ceremony at 6 oclock. The interior was decorated with white chrysanthemums and palms. The bridesmaid was Miss Elizabeth Shields and the best man was Frank McGrath. Ushers were Russel Sargeant Martin Reynolds and Thomas Shields. The organ was played by Edmund Guthrie. The bride wore a gown of imported lace over white messaline and carried bridal roses. The bridesmaid wore blue messaline over white marquisette and a blue hat. The couple left for a three week trip to Virginia and will reside at 385 South Seventh Street Newark. A large reception followed.

Two Charged in Glass Window Vandalism Case

Stephen O Neil and John Ford of Passaic Avenue were arrested Thursday for throwing rocks at two plate glass windows last Saturday night. Ford held on 300 bail for the Grand Jury.
