Notley Man Struck by Erie Engine at Passaic Crossing

John Sigler a Nutley resident 49 was hit by the western express while crossing at Paulison avenue Passaic after alighting a local train. He suffered a broken rib and cuts but his condition was not serious. he was taken to St Marys hospital and expected to be home in about two weeks. His companion Louis Gehring narrowly escaped injury.

Nutley High School Athletic Association presented The Freshman at Town Hall Auditorium. Lawrence Sargent as the hazed freshman drew laughs while a boy cast filled female roles. The skit featured strong makeups and verses alluding to students, with John Warden as the freshman and a list of supporting cast members including L Sargent Picadilly, Jerome, Bugs Stevens, Tracey Wood, and more.

Fined for Disorderly Conduct in Sunday Scene

Franklin avenue resident Frank Jamieson and Chestnut street resident Frederick Frebose were each fined five dollars by Recorder Party for being disorderly. Police Chief John Perkins said they harassed an Italian priest on Avondale road and jostled worshippers leaving St. Mary's Church on Sunday morning.

Nutley Names John R Beachler New School Superintendent

John R Beachler of Piqua Ohio signed a three year contract as Nutley Public School superintendent on Tuesday night. The salary starts equal to the current amount paid to Meredith with yearly increases and includes a town paid secretary. The Teachers Committee handles teacher hiring.

The State Exempt Firemen's Association met in Trenton and re elected E. T. Humphrey of Nutley as secretary. James Manning of Elizabeth was re elected president and Nicholas Silver of Newark became treasurer. Abram Blum of Nutley was reappointed to the Executive Committee. Won Prizes In Art Contest At New York School

Miss Louise Chandler of Hillside Avenue won second prize in the Wall Paper Class and Historic Ornament Class at the School of Applied Design New York where she has studied the past year.
