Town Council Forms Committees and Names Officials
The EW Town Council organized for the year on Monday the 9th. Councilman-at-Large Wilson G Kierstead and ten councilmen were present. Committees were named including Roads, Sidewalks, Lighting, Water, Fire, Poor, Legal and Police, Finance, and Auditing. A vice chairman was elected, and various appointments and petitions were discussed including road repairs, sidewalk revisions, and a liquor selling complaint referred to the Police Committee.

Traction Company announced future sprinkling water from Kingsland Street and Passaic Avenue. A Memorial Day appropriation of 3100 was approved for town veterans. Bills totaling 2589.10 were ordered paid.

J D MacIntosh Dies After Illness at Brookfield Ave
James D MacIntosh died at his Brookfield avenue home after paralysis. He lived in Nutley nearly fifteen years and was in his 60s. He left a widow and two sons Robert L MacIntosh of St Paul Minnesota and Sidney MacIntosh of Philadelphia. Funeral services were held at his residence Friday evening with interment at Rutherford.

Fox and dog chase near Nutley Realty porch
On Hillside avenue Mr John P Dittig observed a red fox chased by a dog dash through the street and take refuge under a house porch owned by the Nutley Realty Company The man obtained a gun and shot the animal intending to stuff it as an ornament The fox is believed to have escaped from government confines at Athenia.
