The assailants fled toward Humbert Street as police seek Italian suspects after witnesses saw one run away. Schmitt identified the reciprocating attacker. the other man was not seen. He was treated for a broken nose and damaged teeth. The stolen watch belonged to a customer.

William H Waterman of Hillside avenue Nutley died Monday night from a stroke after a week of illness. He was 71, born in Troy New York and moved to Nutley fourteen years ago. A former Gorham Company jeweler salesman for thirty years, he served as a lieutenant in the Forty seventh New York Regiment. He is survived by his wife and one daughter Mrs Henry A Herbert. Funeral services were held at the local church.
