At Nutley Chapter American Red Cross meeting, Mrs J D Little resigned as secretary and Mrs Samuel Cowen was chosen as secretary. Mare M Michael resigned from the Board of Trustees and Executive Committee chair, Frederic Davis elected to the vacancy.

R W Ballard Former health board member dies suddenly

Richard Waters Ballard, former Nutley health board member, died at his home 142 Centre street after a brief illness of pleuring and meningitis. He leaves wife and six children aged seven to ten. Helen ill with pneumonia. Ballard, born in Somerset County Maryland, lived in Baltimore before moving to Nutley sixteen years ago and worked with H Spencer of New York cotton goods dealers. Funeral services were held at his Nutley home with Elks and Catholic rites, then burial in Baltimore.
