Voters will decide on a public system for garbage and ashes with polls open 3 to 9 P M in the Council Chambers. Ballots offer two propositions: support a public collection and disposal system and adopt related ordinance. The council seeks to measure citizen preference and cost about one dollar per thousand in ratables.
A large Fortnightly Club attendance gathered at the Franklin avenue clubhouse for Thursday night dancing. Couples included Mr and Mrs Charles H Young and others, with Misses Laura and Florence Volkner from Newark and Mr and Mrs J E Arold. The next dance on March 7 will be named after the day and feature green costumes and decorations.
The Nutley Improvement Society announces its annual meeting and officer election at Town Halls on Wednesday afternoon March 16. Key speakers include Mrs. Frank A. Pattison of the New York State Federation of Women’s Club and Carl Bannwart of the Newark Shade Tree Commission. Tea at 4:30. Members urged to attend and invite prospective members.
The Conference of Mayors of New Jersey met in the State House at Trenton with Mayor John P. Lux and Collector A. H. Van Riper attending. They drafted a bill to create a uniform municipal bookkeeping system and place accounting under the State auditor, to be introduced this session. After sessions, they toured Trenton's new automobile fire engines.

Mr and Mrs George Walcott of Grant and Whitford avenues hosted the Tuesday Night Whist Club at their home. Prizes were won by Mrs J Cary Bolger and Mr Walcott. The next gathering is March 15 at the home of Mr and Mrs A Tauchert on North Road.

The First Church of Christ Scientist in Passaic holds Sunday services and Sunday school at 9 30 a m in rooms at the People's Bank Building. Tomorrow's subject is Man.
A Newark warrant charges Miss Anna Kippy with taking a three day old child from her Walnut street home. Miss Hannah Wilmer accused Kippy after discovering the infant alive but weakened. The case, aided by Detective Louis Teed, was sent to the County Prosecutor for investigation and later lingers on a fornication charge to hold until New York authorities respond.
The Ladies' Social Circle of the Nutley Reformed Church will earn one dollar each in a unique self driven effort over the coming month to raise funds for repairing the Manse and gathering material for a novel social. A sociable will be held later and a clam chowder supper is planned for St Patrick's Day March 17.

A bridge whist and progressive euchre evening is planned for Thursday March 1 at the Fortnightly Clubhouse on Franklin Avenue. The event is organized by Mrs Howard Arold, Mrs Benjamin R Colwell, Mrs Heywood H Heywood, Mrs J P Hunting, Mrs Ralph W Mc Clintock, Mrs Emil Miller, Mrs Thomas Nichols, Mrs G C Roe and Mrs Edward G Yerg.
The Epworth League of the Methodist Church held a social in the supper room on Monday night. Music and recitations highlighted the program, providing an evening of fellowship for members.
Two East Nutley men, Angelo Romeo and William Steffanelli, faced Grand Jury charges after fights and threats at a Nutley cutlery works. Romeo, former worker at Imperial Cutlery Works, allegedly attacked Ernst Petrick and threatened Hirsh with a wrench. bail set at 2000. Steffanelli, accused of pursuing a man with a drawn knife after an argument, was held on 300 bail.
