St Pauls Congregational Church will host Mr G A Holbert to preach Sunday at 4 45 pm and 7 45 pm Sunday School at 9 45 am Primary Department at 2 30 pm Young Peoples Meeting at 7 pm Prayer Meeting Wednesday at 7 pm New hymnals numbered 200 have been purchased for church and Sunday school use with half assigned to each department.

Nutley Gets New Telephone Subscribers and Passaic Exchange

The Nutley area adds two subscribers H G Thompson on Centre street and W H Robinson on Chestnut street as a new telephone exchange in Passaic becomes operational. The company plans to extend service through Brookfield avenue High street Hawthorne avenue to Prospect street but cannot add more subscribers until cabling is finished. It expects to supply all those requesting a phone to Nutley by month’s end.

Councilman Howe Recounts South Travel Accident

Councilman Joan Howe and Mrs. Howe report they were aboard a train from Atlanta to Jacksonville that derailed causing several coaches to roll down an embankment. No fatalities besides the engineer reportedly. The Howes were in a sleeper car and remained on the rails. The Public Scholar Library now opens from 2 30 to 3 30 p m Mondays and Thursdays at Park School, moved to the new first floor room opposite Frankton Avenue entrance.
