Memorial Park fundraising under way with Trees and Shrubs sale

A town fundraising meeting raised 4000 of 12000 needed for Memorial Park. The committee plans selling trees at 25 and shrubs at 1, with contributions in full or five installments. Names of early subscribers include William Arnold Albert Rutan Jr James Gilmore W C Ryan and many others.

Williamson Defers Decision on St Pauls Call to Next Week

After a conference with Rev James Williamson of New Haven the St Pauls Congregational Church called him Wednesday night. Williamson will not decide until mid next week and wishes to discuss with his wife at their Massachusetts summer home. The vote was 70 in favor and 23 opposed with two abstentions. pay raised from 1000 to 2500.

Mock Trial Delights Town at Reformed Church Event

Town hall hosted a humorous mock trial by the Club of the Reformed Church last night. An all church group entertained a full audience despite rain, delivering a light hearted show that pleased many townspeople.

Second Welch Boy Home from Overseas

Private Charles Welch of 1s Chestnut Street attached to Divisional Headquarters Staff of the 26th Division 115th Infantry returned from overseas Monday. He is the second to return since the enlistment. Sergeant Alfred Welch with the Army of Occupation attached to the 4th Infantry, stationed at Wiesbaden, writes that he hopes to return to God’s country by the end of July.

Reverend Charles P Tinker Accepts Grace Church Call

William Anderson Funeral Services Held

William Anderson aged seventy three died Friday at his daughter Mrs William Mekiyot Hillside Avenue. Requiem mass was said Monday at Sacred Heart Church Kingsland. Burial followed at St Josephs Cemetery Kirwan. He had lived in Sandurst for thirty nine years before moving to Notles. He was survived by family.

Memorial Services for Raymond Blum by Fire Department

Firemen honored fallen Raymond Blum, killed October 12 1918 in Grand Pre France. A tree and granite tablet were placed in the town park near the Engine Co station as a memorial with a formal program including prayers songs remarks and a dedication address by Dr. G B Philhower.

Cheer for Soldiers From Flower Mission

The Flower Mission of the local W.T.O. sent twenty four jars of home canned vegetables twenty glasses of jelly magazines and bouquets of daisies and buttercups to wounded soldiers in Newark hospitals yesterday.
