Nutley Board Adopts New Legislature Led Changes
At a regular meeting the Nutley Board of Education notes new state laws setting April 1 as board organization date and July 1 as district clerk term. A $500 note is floated for operations until funds appear, and a flag is accepted from Stars and Stripes Council for Flag Day exercises on June 14.

Terrace M Musical Club Holds Second Annual Picnic
The Terrace M Musical Club held its second annual picnic on May 25 at John Lobb’s farm. About twenty five members met at Paterson station and were driven to Preak Ness Mountains grounds for a day of feasting and flowers returning with ferns and blossoms. Attendees included Mesdames Nichols Bell Thatcher Kantz Dale and Misses Flemming Hadeock Bickers and Julia Hochstraaser.

Nutley A C shaded the National Turn Verein of Newark 7 to 4 in a Memorial Day doubleheader. Joiner pitched well, Gillan scored on an error, and Ray Blum led shortstop defense as Nutley piled up nine runs in the first inning of the afternoon game. Spioning pitched five innings for Newark, while Small started for Nutley, with Joiner finishing the relief.

Fire Bug Strikes Nutley Areas Twice In Short Time
Fire officials report two blazes near Avondale Road earlier in the week. The first burned a shed in the east side quarry area, minor damage, firemen subdued flames. The second fire in a hen house on Avondale Road caused small loss, quickly extinguished with minor damage.
