James L. Miller treasurer of the Social Services Bureau collected a $211.95 check from Eliot N. Smith treasurer of the Mayor Diebitach Campaign Committee after election expenses. The balance could not be returned due to many contributors and pro rata distribution would be impractical.

Frank A. Brandreth is named tax clerk at 1200 dollars yearly after the board filled two of four anticipated appointments. The resignations of accountant Louis F. Fulton were read. town clerk Kirkeby will leave July 31 to take a New York position. The head of revenue and stenographer posts remain open with several applications on file. Commissioner Wildey supported reappointment of Fulton for efficiency.

Town Moves to Settle Disputed Plumbing and Sewer Bills

At the meeting two claims were debated. Charles Losee urged payment of $186 to Town Plumber Matthew J. Callahan, while McEligot & Chenoweth filed a $9,000 final work claim on the Bloom Field Avenue sewer.
