Tillie Moves New Arrival Family After Puppy Incident

Two boys were bitten while Tillie tried to move her newly arrived puppies from Erie tracks near Railroad south of Washington avenue. An audience of children and a few adults watched as Tillie began carrying the puppies away, and assistance led to minor injuries before she finished.

Nutley Boy Scouts Win Series at Pompton Lake Camp

A Nutley Troop led by the Scoutmaster defeated rival units in a baseball series at Pompton Lake. Details recount trips over old mountain trails to Grand Lake, encounters with a deputy, and a cake dinner back home. Troop Eight held a first overnight camp with nineteen members, tall mosquitoes feasted, and a night fire kept stories and candy flowing. Mrs Angelia Prior Dies After Long Illness

Mrs Angelia M Prior seventy years old of Passaic New Jersey died Sunday after a long illness She was mother of Perley A Prior of Mountainview Avenue and of Mrs F W Owens of Passaic formerly of this town Surviving besides Mrs Owens and Mr Prior are three daughters Mrs F L Bish and Mrs W E Hislip of Pittsburgh and Mrs John B Allen of Cleveland and one son Arthur L Prior of Lancaster Massachusetts Funeral services were held Tuesday at the Methodist Church in Malden Massachusetts where the remains were sent for interment.

Motorcycle sidecar crash injures three men in Washington Avenue street

A motorcycle sidecar overturned on Washington Avenue near the railroad crossing injuring three men. Eugene Tiedt and another rider suffered facial and neck injuries, while two others were treated at St Marys Hospital. One rider, with a sprained wrist, was released and walked home. The machine ran off the road after hitting the railroad crest.

Dies After Long Illness Robert Connolly of Chestnut Place

Robert Connolly aged 56 died after a nine month illness. He was born in Belleville and lived here since boyhood. He belonged to Knights of Pythias and Vincent Methodist Episcopal Church Men’s Association. Surviving are his wife and son Charles, in France with the First Engineers. another son George killed in action June 6 1918. Funeral Tuesday at 2 30 at Vincent Church officiated by Rev S T Jackson. Burial at Methodist Cemetery with Crystal Lake delegation.

Sonneborns Seek Expansion With New Newark Plant

Newark architect seeks bids for enlarging the Sonneborns plant with a one story 12938 foot addition including a boiling room extension S2x40 feet. Brick walls reinforced concrete floors and roof. First floor houses shipping and reducing rooms basement stores. Four brick stacks rise from eight brick ovens. Ovens have counter balanced doors and pits. A reinforced concrete platform runs length of first floor with an elevator from the basement.

Police blotter reports a summons returnable this morning on complaint by Health Officer Eugene H. Sullivan against George W. Keyser a local plumber for alleged installation of plumbing fixtures in a house at 102 Bloomfield Avenue without securing a license. A daytime fire at Wake Street East Nutley was brought under control in the cellar by the Chemical Engine. A shattered street light at High and Prospect followed an accident with a Cadillac driven by Charles R Bedell of Franklin Avenue. Thieves stole 219 in cash and tools from Kaufmann Windheim plumbing shop Wednesday night. a separate report noted an attempted entry into a Princeton Street residence with a key. Yountakah course youths were chased off by officers during golf lessons. Salvatore Guardalibeni of Lodi was fined 5 dollars for passing a standing trolley in Centre Street.
