Nutley Day by Day Glancing at Local Happenings

Winter weather lingered through Nutley with notes of daily life. Items include a 15 cent peanut brittle at Masonic Hall Pharmacy, Lefferts' cough remedy claims cures, and a barn dance at St Marys Hall on Nutley Tuesday evening February 12. Also reports of local illness, travels to Bermuda Islands by Mr and Mrs Harvey, and club activities with Nutley Fortnightly, Terrace Musical Club, and Friday Afternoon Club. A double funeral for Mrs Matilda Sanderson and Miss Augusta Warren occurred in Newark with Rev Nelson presiding at the Methodist Cemetery.

Funeral services for Mrs Vreeland held at Franklin avenue

Funeral services for Mrs. Vreeland were conducted by Rev. Elbert Clement and assisted by Rev. William Stuart and Rev. Jas A. Fairley at her Franklin avenue home. A quartet including Mrs. Charles Badger and Mrs. F. R. Carr sang as town officials attended. Interment followed at Mount Pleasant Cemetery.

Charity Cake Sale For Building Fund At Prospect Street

A home sale by Mrs. Joseph Mutch on Prospect street will offer cake bread pie biscuit brown bread and candy Saturday afternoon February 2 from 2 to 4 o'clock. Cake and chocolate will be served. Funds go to the building fund of the new Methodist Church.

Park School Addition Opens Amid Dignified Dedication

Despite Saturday weather the Park School addition opened with large crowds. The twenty four room expansion includes an assembly hall study rooms cloak rooms and a board meeting room. State Superintendent Charles J Haxter and Dr Louis Bevier Jr addressed the dedication with many Essex County educators present. A closing collation followed for all visitors.

Royal Arcanum Kempton Council Meeting Notice
