Jeane Remas Kierstead died yesterday at his Prospect and High Streets home from heart failure brought on by a severe grip attack. He had been off work a week yet appeared well enough to walk to town before his death.
G Kierstead of Cheatnut Street died after a period of weakness at his home. He was 51, born in this town, president of Kierstead Trucking Co in New York, married Theresa Howe twenty six years ago with four children, two surviving. Funeral set for Monday 8 PM at Grace Church officiated by Rev Douglas Matthews, burial Cedar Cemetery Paterson.
Chief of Police Sutcliffe attended the conference of the State at Ridgewood on Thursday.

The Rev Dr James L Robertson father of J J Robertson of Coeyman Avenue died suddenly Tuesday evening at his Bronxville New York home. He retired from the ministry on November 1 last after fifty nine years in active service. Interment was made.
The Church and Society hosts its annual meeting and supper with the Women’s Guild annual dinner, scheduled for the center sight on Semiery 20.
The Board of Education plans land purchases west of Bloomfield Avenue for a new unit type school. Located on the Lambert and Ackerman tracts, the four acre site near Cosmin Avenue will relieve Yantacaw and Park School congestion and serve the third ridge area as growth continues toward 1917.
Essex County Vocational School begins its second series of classes Monday at Park School. Registration runs all week. Millinery and sewing, cooking and home nursing are offered. Balanced menus course at Girls' Vocational School 82 Broad Street Bloomfield starts Monday at 2:30 PM, led by Miss Bridges of Montclair for Essex County girls.
Local women of the W C T U place temperance leaflets at railroad stations to boost their campaign. A rally was moved from January 23 to February 27 at Vincent Church due to speaker unavailability. Women aim to persuade other churches to join in closing on rally night.
On Chief Wright Sotecliffe recommendation the Board of Commissioners authorized five year service stripes for Sergeants Wilford Stager and John Jameson and Patrolman George Malizia. Albert Welschadel were appointed assessants for a year. A resolution authorized the issuance of a note for sanitary sewer work.
The 1915 financial statement of St. Mary's Church, to be presented by Rev. W. L. Cunningham, indicates a solid overall condition with receipts $950 below 1914. Lay trustees Thomas J. O'Neil and Henry A. Connolly oversee the figures as parishioners prepare to review the report.

Miss Allee-Allen daughter of George Allen of 49 Hillside avenue and Walter Ottmer of Brooklyn were married on Wednesday December 29. Rev Walter F Allton officiated at his home 639 Decature street Brooklyn with Vera Kierstead and Frederick Zeppelin as witnesses. The Ottmers now reside at 484 Decatur.
A charity ball next Friday in Natley aims to boost Social Service Bureau funds. committees promise formal dress and lavish decorations with an elaborate menu and stage dance. Mrs. Edward Dillon leads the effort with a large committee, highlighting community support and dignified aid.
Crystal Lodge Knights of Pythias elected officers Tuesday night with John Mutch as Chancellor Commander and Charles W. Stager as vice chancellor. Other posts filled include James M. Vree’and prelate A W Pingree keeper of records, William J Houshby master of finance W O Davis master of exchequer Robert Connolly master at arms William Perkins side guard and Obidiah Zellers outside guard. B Fred Bante named representative to Grand Lodge and Harry H Stager alternate. On January 11 Benevolent Lodge of Passaic will visit for installation.
