Sewers and curb work ordered on several streets

The Board of Commissioners met Tuesday night and passed on first reading an ordinance to construct sanitary sewers in eight streets including Walnut Melrose Grant Nutley Passaic Union Durand and Burnett. An ordinance to establish grades and lay concrete curb and gutter on Race Street between John Street and Woodland Avenue was considered. Albany Avenue and Cortland Street grading and relaying a six inch water main along Albany were awarded to Janserone Contracting Company.

C B Lee of Crestwood avenue reported a porch window forced and two dollars taken while absent. A seven year old child confessed and money was returned. A warrant issued for Frank Williams for a February 17 overcoat theft. A separate warrant for William Mathes, fourteen, for bicycle theft. bicycle recovered with note. Police pursued and recovered item.
