Sewer Cave-In Blocks Cars in Franklin Ave Area
A winter sewer cave-in buried the southbound trolley at the Center Street entrance to the County Park, blocking traffic for hours as ties hung on rails. The trolley company moved passengers to Big Ties and used the northbound track until the hole was filled with cinders around four. Two smaller holes appeared on Franklin Avenue at Centre and Chestnut streets, filled by the street department without further incidents. The rain and Friday morning slides are blamed for the slides.
