West Rocks teen wins national invention prize for Lite Write
A 13 year old West Rocks Middle School student Jameson Saviano won first place in the personal care category of the Hammacher Schlemmer Search for Invention 1997 for Lite Write a device that slips onto a pencil keeping the user from pressing too hard. He promoted the win on Regis and Kathie Lee Fox News CNN and CBS. He traveled to New York City with his family for the award.

Rilling Union At Odds On Tickets
The Norwalk Police Union says it will contact state Attorney General Richard Blumenthal over what it views as a ticket quota imposed on patrol officers earlier this month. The dispute traces to August when Chief Harry Rilling asked shift supervisors to meet with officers who had issued fewer than 10 traffic tickets in the year’s first five months. Rilling stressed there was no quota and aimed to ensure officers were doing their jobs.

Man exhumes two caskets over buried mother doubt
Bridgeport resident Jeffrey Tisdale exhumed two caskets at Riverside Cemetery to verify if his mother Edith buried beside his father James in Norwalk.
