Polish Arts Club Announces 1969 Literary Contest

Chicago area high school students of Polish descent are invited to enter the Polish Arts club literary contest. Categories include essays narrative translation and on the Regained Western Boundary by Poland. Entries due Feb 11, 1965 with over 1000 dollars in cash awards. YMCA Buys Land to Expand Logan Square Facility

The Logan Square YMCA at 3600 Fullerton announces two additional property acquisitions to support expansion. The plan shifts from a four to a two floor building with an indoor pool, handball courts, health clubs for men and women, upgraded locker facilities, and more. Project cost is about $700,000 with groundbreaking around April 1, 1969. Fox and Fox Architects handle drawings and bids will be advertised.

Three-Car Collision Injures Six Including 7-Month-Old

A three car crash at Lockwood and Chicago last Sunday night injured six people including a 7 month old Joel Therrien. Daniel Gonzalez, 24, 644 N Pine, ran a stop sign and hit Stephen Therrien 952 N Keystone whose car struck a taxi and rolled onto the sidewalk. The Therriens Judy and Joel and taxi passenger Virginia Maines were treated at St Anne's Hospital. driver Dave Roberts was also treated. Police charged Gonzalez with stop sign violation speeding and DUI.
