Death of Frank Fort a longtime local farmer
Frank Fort a well known local farmer died Friday evening after a lingering illness at age 46. Survived by his widow Leopold Fort and parents in Chicago, four children Antonia Josephine Mary Frankie, four siblings in Chicago, and many relatives. Born July 19 1874 in Bohemia he came to America July 3 1898 and married Antonia Budka January 2 1907. Funeral held Monday from the home with Rev Collier and a Chicago Bohemian Society member. burial in Highland cemetery.

A La Grange County Atwood farm culled 184 White Leghorns with 61 tossed as culls. The kept hens laid 278 eggs in the week after culling, while 73 hens produced 266 eggs the prior week. In Van Buren township James Powell farm culled 79 Barred Plymouth Rocks, 21 hens culled produced one egg in seven days before sale, 58 retained laid 149 eggs in the week after culling.
