Memorial Day events are planned in North Judson with a program led by editor J B Stoll of the South Bend Times at 2 30 p m in arch hall followed by a night gathering at Burch s Hall. The event includes a parade, cemetery ceremonies, choral performances, talks by old soldiers, and musical interludes, plus a town bell toll for five minutes at noon.

Engineer Geo T Menish Dies After Illness in Huntington
Geo T Menish longtime Erie railroad engineer and former North Judson resident died Saturday in Huntington from brights disease and stomach cancer. Born May 1 1898 in Maine he was 54 and left a wife four children and many relatives. Funeral Monday was led by the Masonic lodge and Brotherhood of Railroad Engineers with attendees from here including G N Peterson G B Corbitt C H Kuester and John W Lain.

Four auto loads of local Catholics attended the dedication of a handsome new church altar at San Pierre on Monday evening. Rev Guethoff of Hammond led services with assistance from Revs Philip Guethoff Crown Point Lawrence Schirack Winamac Edmund Lohmiller Pulaski Edmund Ley Kewanna Francis Koch Henry Hoerstmann Lowell Bernard Stuczko South Bend. Father Guethoff preached the sermon. The altar was crafted by Caprato Stat-Parity Co Chicago.

J F Manz of this city attended the Erie agents convention at Binghamton New York with a business session and a grand banquet by the race officials The trip included visits to New York City to see the new criminal station and the famed tunnel and other sights near Coney Island He called the trip a memorable excursion.

Oiling of Main Street Aims to Ease Dust
Work on Lain Street from the Jacob Burch corner to the Joseph IXoza corner and adjacent side streets will start soon. Local businessmen funded fifty barrels of crude oil for the project while the town provides oil for cross streets. The dust problem is serious and past trials on two main blocks succeeded.

Army Man Arrives With Bride for Sparta Couple

James M. Caddy died in Columbus Ohio last Friday from blood poisoning after a shoulder cabuncle operation. His relatives Jim Caddy of Starke county had lived much of late years in Ohio and worked as a plasterer in North Judson. He was slightly over thirty seven.
