The decline in Liberty Bond prices after World War I was expected as weaker hands sold under patriotic pressure. Most bonds are now with stronger holders and about 1.29 billion dollars has already been retired. The guidance urges investors to hold bonds unless money is needed or a compelling reinvestment opportunity appears.
A new device called the Production Meter records busy and idle periods in a plant and counts each piece produced by connected machines. It uses magnets and wires to log time of day and total production, leased on a rental basis, with patents secured in many countries.
Field agent George C. Bryant reports winter wheat revival across most Indiana fields after cool wet weather. Top growth slow but steady, oats planted in mud with late seeding, corn plowing delayed by rains, bottom land flooded, rye thriving, fruits forecast large yields, farm labor scarce and farmers buying power machinery to cope.
Louis Kriepisch, U S Marines veteran, died February 24 in Pekin China. His funeral held Sunday at the Lutheran church in Blue Sea near Medaryville with military rites and a large attendance. Interment followed in the Blue Sea cemetery. He was a son of Mr and Mrs August Kriepisch of Blue Sea.
Next Sunday at 2 PM communicant members are invited to meet at the church to organize an A. L. L. society within the congregation and to appoint officers. Fred Keehn Chris Neupert Roy Lain visited LaPorte last Thursday.
Miss Agnes Elizabeth Sindelar wed Mr. William Barry Sullivan last Saturday at SS Cyril and Methodius in this city. The ceremony was by Father Van Rie with bridesmaids Marie Wisler and Louise Sullivan. The couple honeymooned in San Pierre then Michigan City and will reside in Chicago at 141 North Long Avenue.
Notice that a hearing on the petition of the North Judson Telephone Company to increase rates tolls and charges will be held Monday May 17 1920 at 9 30 am at the Public Service Commission offices State House Indianapolis Indiana. Mrs Otto Kriss returned home last Thursday from a visit at Lebanon Ind.

Coburns visited relatives. Lewis Kriepisch funeral attended. he died in China last winter. Band fundraiser dance at Arndt's hall to aid the town band. Commencement address by Timothy P. Galvin in Valparaiso, with graduates named. Edward Eckert and Gertrude Zingier wed. San Pierre welcomes the couple. Local authorities destroyed a still at Riverside. Blue Sea residents Eddie Eckert and Gertrude Zingier are newly married. Dolezal and Kingman visit Chicago seeking success. town hopes for their future.
James Lawrence Crawford born October 3 1845 in New Albany Indiana died May 5 1920 at home east of San Pierre Indiana after a lingering illness. He moved to Starke County in 1877 and resided there 43 years. A Civil War volunteer with the 56th Illinois Regiment Co C he leaves widow Mrs Lewis Bugbee of South Bend and several children including Charles L Crawford Richmond Indiana Benjamin Crawford Chicago Illinois a sister and two grandchildren. One son preceded him in death. Neighbors extend sympathy.

Mrs. Anna Jakes aged 72 years 5 months died Saturday night after a lingering illness. Born in Bohemia December 8 1847 she lived with her daughter Mrs. Joseph Dusek in North Judson. Survived by four children fifteen grandchildren and funeral services were held at North Judson Catholic church with interment in the Catholic cemetery. Relatives from Chicago and San Pierre attended.
Mrs Anna Stiefenhoefer celebrated her 70th birthday Sunday with a large family gathering. A big dinner was served and guests included out of town relatives such as Knox Lehman and family from Francesville and Dora Stiefenhoefer of Kewanna among others.
Lucille Marks, 1 year 6 months old, died after a Shetland pony jerked the cart she and her sister rode in. The girls were playing with a new pony tied to a two seat go cart when it tipped. The funeral for Lucille was held at Round Lake church with Rev. Kenna officiating.

Mrs. Miller was formerly Miss Amanda Knapp, a teacher in the public school. A gun not loaded inflicted a fatal injury on a teen at Logansport Sunday evening. Bryar Eltzroth, Quincy McDowell and George Crummit handled a revolver. a cartridge remained in the barrel and a bullet struck Elteroth in the abdomen, perforating the intestines.
