Death Claims Two Of Our Prominent Citizens
Two community stalwarts, Geo W Lawrence and Benjamin Franklin Hay, died within hours of each other this week. Lawrence, 52, longtime Justice of the Peace for Wayne Township, died Monday night from a lung abscess after a four day illness. Hay, 67, a North Judson resident and former furniture maker and undertaker, died after a stroke at his home Thursday. Funeral arrangements and church services are noted, with many local organizations in attendance.

Death of Frank Dusek Sr a Blue Sea resident in Chicago
Frank Dusek Sr a longtime Blue Sea farmer and resident near the vicinity for over forty years died in Chicago after an extended illness at age eighty six. He is survived by four sons and one daughter, his wife having died over twelve years ago. Remains were shipped from Chicago for Saturday services at SS Cyril and Methodius Church where he was a devout member. Interment followed in San Pierre.

Erie brakeman killed in strange Spencer County railroad wreck
Samuel Shock of Erie was killed last Friday at Spencerville Ohio when a westbound express struck him as he reached the caboose of his train, shoving his body against a switch stand and derailing five freight cars. Woods was severely injured. traffic halted for hours and damage high. Shock’s body was recovered and sent to Huntington for burial.
