The First State Bank reports readiness to exchange temporary 3 8 rd Liberty bonds for permanent 3rd Liberty bonds with coupons attached.
Purina Mills salesman C. E. Knapp of St. Louis and Bert Smith of Judson Creamery & Produce Co. attend a Columbus convention for Indiana and adjoining states. The meeting aims to boost milk meat and poultry production with Purina seeds and free expert demonstrations.

Rockwell is buried in San Pierre after residing here for years. A timber mill will run two years and a farm for rent is offered as community notices include a reunion and local social scenes.
Mrs. Robert Batzka born October 28 1872 in East Prussia died March 14 1920 at her sister’s home in San Pierre after influenza complications. Survived by husband six children a brother and sister in San Pierre and two brothers and two sisters in Germany. She joined Zion church of the Evangelical Association and was known as a quiet devoted homemaker.
Willing Workers Sunday school class presents resolutions noting the passing of Sister Huldah Batske with condolences to the family. The charter will be draped in mourning for thirty days and copies sent to the bereaved and The North Judson News Committee.

Tom Daly of San Pierre and Russell Thompson of Knox linked to the Democratic race for auditor. Presence of other contenders expected in the near term.
Floyd Foust of Indiana Harbor wed Miss Ruby Harter daughter of Mr and Mrs Hugh Harter at the Methodist Parsonage on Friday afternoon. They left for a honeymoon to Chicago and Savannah and will reside in North Judson after April 1. Foust has left the steel mills to manage Kline lands locally. Mrs Foust previously worked as a stenographer for the County Agent.
Attorney General Stansbury rules that the 1918 law granting a $1 000 tax exemption for veterans of the Mexican and Civil Wars and widows applies to last year’s assessments whose taxes are due this year in May and November. The deduction can be taken from 1919 taxes, and regular mortgage exemptions also apply. The 1919 act covers veterans over 70 and widows over 60. Florence Akers and Helen Akers visited Mrs. Pearl Johnson in South Bend last Thursday evening.
