LE McCormick finance Harold L. Boyesen work Penry Ek. White military Rev W. B. Collier public morals. Plans for patriotic campaign were outlined and the council invites public suggestions and complaints. Next meeting is scheduled for March list at Mrs. Bert Fruits home.
Otto Sams died Tuesday evening following his wife Augusta Sams who passed Monday evening. The couple, longtime Pulaski County residents from Chicago, left a widow and four children Emil Louis Bertha and Minnie. Augusta was sixty eight. Funeral services were held at the home and burial in Denham cemetery.
List of unclaimed matter remaining undelivered in the office for the week ending March 6 1918 includes Hansen James Stevers Parl Stitt L G. If not claimed within two weeks the mail will be sent to the Dead Letter Office. Frank J Vessely P M notes Asa Mosher visiting relatives at Gary and Hammond for two weeks.
Jury commissioners John B. Jain and John M. Swartzell selected jurors for the March term of the circuit court, with the term to run five days.
A Stennford Cota man jailed for months for shouting profanities claims drunkenness. The Catholic church held a service with one hundred marchers to receive Holy Communion led by president Joseph Dolezal with Louis Lawrence and Frankie Kalina as pages. A May 26 blessing and unfurling of the Service Flag is planned at the church front. Pickell's Ice Cream Parlor is being enlarged and reconfigured into a larger room with repainted walls, a lunch counter, new tables, and added conveniences to boost its status as a premier ice cream and fruit store in Northern Indiana.
