Farmers Capture Outlaw After Starke County Posse
A Hooded desperado wounded and captured by eastern Starke county farmers after a spree of chicken, harness and horse thefts. He fled Henry Boyer’s home, fired on by shots from a back door, then attempted suicide with a .32 revolver. He survived, confessed thefts, and directed deputies to the stolen mare and a coop with sixty chickens. He is jailed in Knox with multiple wounds.

Fatal Lockjaw Claims Velva Segner A Nine Year Old
Velva Lockwood Segner nine of Mr and Mrs J B Segner died last Thursday from lockjaw following a wood splinter injury to her foot and a nail scratch blood poisoning. She was a fourth grade student at the local school and is survived by her parents two brothers and two sisters. Funeral services were held at the home Saturday by Rev Collier with burial in Highland cemetery.
