Brown Tragedy Tied to Erie Railroad Treatment
Clayton D. Brown, an Erie brakeman, killed himself after a confrontation at Reichenbach and Wickeneiser store over his job troubles. He loaded a revolver there and twice shot himself, later dying at the hospital. Brown had been with the Erie for six years, previously troubled by derangement, and left a wife Ida Wheeler and a son Cecil.
