Pioneer Citizen Willian Miller Dies After Long Illness
Willian Miller a respected Starke County pioneer died Saturday morning after a weeks long fight with illness. Born December 18, 1844 in Crawfordsville Ohio he moved to Indiana in 1858 and lived at Round Lake and North Judson. He served in the Sth U.S. Cavalry under Generals McPherson and Custer and later held county and town offices. He leaves a widow seven children and siblings. Funeral services were held at Round Lake with Masonic and other lodge involvement. Local notices follow including dances, Red Cross campaigns, and church events.

Farmers Mutuals Seek Fire Prevention to Cut Insurance Costs
Indiana farmers mutual insurance companies with about ninety one firms and roughly 125000 policies insure over two hundred million dollars in property. Fire marshal notes reductions up to one fifth for buildings with proper lightning protection as mutuals push prevention efforts through meetings and inspections.
