Barn Fire Kills Twenty Nine Horses on Tinney Farm
A large barn on the Tinney farm near the Pulaski county line burned Monday night, entombing twenty nine horses owned by Biggs Bros. Many were used for Erie double track work and horse dealing. Cause unknown. Edward Neff family occupied the farm and learned of the blaze too late to save the animals. Insurance reportedly covers much of the loss.

Man Dies After Roof Fall In North Judson
James Riha, 73, fell sixteen feet from the roof while fixing a chimney near the old padding factory Monday afternoon and died Tuesday at 2:00 am. He came from Chicago 15 years ago and leaves a wife and four children Fas and Frank of Chicago Anne Dvorak of South Dakota and Anton of North Judson. Funeral services will be held Friday from his residence with burial in Highland cemetery.
