District meeting and stock market regulation talks in Indiana
A district meeting of eight counties in district No 1 with Mr Warren of Kouts presiding was held in South Bend last Friday to perfect a district organization and discuss questions facing the counties represented. Representatives will meet in Plymouth Friday to discuss ways and means to regulate stock markets for a square deal for shippers. The Starke County Farmers Association Board met at the County Agent's office last Saturday focusing on beds and fertilizer requirements for spring. A special meeting is planned at Aldine Friday evening January 16 for reorganizing, urging all nearby township associations to attend, with Wayne township expected in full force. The next picture in the high school classic course Just out of College and Alladin and His Lamp will be shown at Isis theatre this Wednesday evening. Prices 10c and 20c. Just out of College is a comedy taken from George Ade stories and the pictures should prove interesting for children and grown ups. Fred Kellerman Jr has been appointed census enumerator for Wayne township and North Judson. This job had gone begging for weeks with no one appearing to want it. Three men who had accepted the place threw it up and it began to look like an outside enumerator would be sent here. Kellerman was not eager but was prevailed upon to take it. We extend heartfelt sympathy to the bereaved friends in the loss of their loved one and may they look to the Master whom she loved served and accepted for her comfort. Be it further Resolved that as a token of respect for our departed sister, our charter be draped in mourning for thirty days. Wm. Thews, a Jubilee Poultry Club exhibitor from So. Bend, swept prizes with White Wyandottes and Silver Laced Wyandottes along with Silver Cocks and Hens, earning a gold watch and $10 in gold for best displays. He titled the champion pullet and earned color diplomas for young male birds. Thews plans to show at Wakarusa next week.
