Dredge Work Advances on Monon Ditch Near 64-Foot Wide Channel
Henry J. Reid of Monticello, superintendent of White County Schools, visited North Judson and Indianapolis while Charlie Head returned from La Porte. A dredge on the lower Monon ditch resumed digging after delays, with one shift in operation and a second soon. The ditch runs about 64 feet wide and a three yard dipper often removes more, sometimes five yards, with blue clay piling up. The machine has moved 300 to 400 feet in recent days.
