Franklin Park gains a $58,000 federal grant under the Accelerated Public Works Act for a municipal building on a 3.5 acre site near Roches ter and Lowries Run Road, with plans for borough offices on the first floor and a police sub-station and council rooms on the second floor. Shaler Township commissioners approved rezoning a lot on Royal Boulevard from residential to commercial by a 6 to 1 vote despite petitions from 14 taxpayers from Mount Royal and McDonald avenues.
