Emma Gatewood 76 of Cheshire Ohio mother of Mrs David Allen West View lived a legendary long life of hiking and travel. She hiked from West View to Butler visiting family then joined camp adventures across 14 states covering over two thousand miles. Her journeys included 1959 TV appearances with Garroway and Linkletter and the 1968 Maine Grandme Day. She earned a key to the city and a free fair admission for women over 65. Her descendants continue chronicling her feats as obituaries note page 12.

Firefighters from Richland and North Hampton battled a blaze at Harry Ward home on Fairfield Drive Richland on Thursday January 24. The fire station received the call at 3 22 p m and crews fought for four hours. The house was totally destroyed though the extent of the damage was not determined.
