Ross delays again on day care amendment vote

Don Williams of 3435 Evergreen Road Ross will retire December 31 after four years as manager. Assistant Manager Richard V. Robinson will succeed him. Williams notes sewer work funded by revenue sharing, a $80,000 street light bill discovered early in his tenure, and a stronger financial position with no borrowing last year. Reese inquest set for December 16 at coroner's office
A coroner's inquest will be held December 16 at 10 am for Norman Reese 68 of Portersville charged with voluntary manslaughter in an accident that killed Edward Hemke 20 of McCandless on December 1. Reese was arraigned yesterday and released on nominal bond. He drove the eight ton dump truck that struck Hemke who was road testing a 1974 Pinto at the Pine Creek Road Route 19 intersection. Hemke worked as a mechanic for Jim McKain Ford Inc Wexford Flats.

Girtys Run flood project moves through Senate action

The S&S Stables auction north of Bakerstown sold several horses while owners arrange feeding. the Youth Foundation owns the barn and may turn the property over to the township for a park, with spokesmen declining comment until horse owners are informed.

McKnight construction advances with widening and traffic plans
PennDot repairs McKnight north of Siebert Road for widening and paving in 1976. The first phase from the Babcock Boulevard bridge to North Hills Village end is near completion with drainage and utility work ongoing.
