Marijuana incineration destroys 66 bricks at hospital
Ross police used the hospital incinerator to destroy 66 bricks of marijuana valued at 21 560 from a November 1972 case involving two Texans. Karl Griggs and Layne Laine, both 22, of Port Nichel and Groves Texas, were sentenced 2 to 5 years for transporting marijuana after a traffic stop in Ross Township.

A two-vehicle crash at Wallace Road and Perry Highway Sunday afternoon sent two people to North Hills Passavant Hospital. Emma Lanz of McKees Rocks and William Seviet of Shaler were injured in the Soviet car. Nancy Gurto of Marshall and Robert Burford of McCandless suffered injuries in a separate motorcycle crash on Shenot Road near Marshall.

Park fight lands four Bellevue youths in court
Four Bellevue youths were ordered held for court after a July 29 fight in Bellevue Memorial Park. Patrolman Richard Ball and guard Murl Thompson were injured as they broke up the scuffle. Names include Terry Malsch 21 William Knable 23 Robert Fitzgerald 19 Daniel Wisniewski 18 and Vincent Nicotero 18. Nicotero to have hearing August 27 on a disorderly conduct charge. Malsch earlier paid 36 dollars in fines for unrelated public drunkenness after police investigated library windows damage at Bayne Park.
