Biography of Duquette and Cardinal Martyrs of Liberty

Josevu Dequerre born 1814 in Chateau quay Laprairie district of Montreal. A reformer who studied at Chambly and Montreal, he joined Patriot Service and fought at Moore's Corner on December 6 1837. Arrested with Cardinal N P and executed by British authorities after a harsh trial, he endured torture and a brutal hanging. His mother begged for a respite. Colborne refused. He died at 24, buried with Cardinal, leaving a legacy of bravery and anti tyranny.
