Saunders a Trampton Newport News and Old Point railroad conductor, died at his Hamp ton home after taking ten grains of strychnine. Reports say the steamer Cisney Queen was wrecked off Cuernsey with captain saved and about twenty two believed drowned. Seventeen passengers including fourteen onion sellers were lost as waves swamped the vessel and rescuers struggled in heavy seas.
