Ohio officials consider Gov Rhodes meeting with Senco and area leaders as Senco forecasts 50 to 200 percent job growth over five years. Expansion tied to a $14 million upgrade of Roundbottom Road to link I-275, improving access for a plant with global operations, warehousing and manufacturing plans.
Anderson Township Trustees consider asking Hamilton County to provide tax abatement for new business, potentially setting a county precedent. Paul Sweeney of the Ohio Department of Economic and Community Development briefed about tax abatement use in nearby municipalities and recent legal changes allowing townships to qualify. He toured the Senco plant during an area visit and discussed transportation needs, including Mt Carmel hill safety and a Newtown Road traffic jam, with trustees president Tom Taylor and others. The plan envisions state and federal funding, with a $1 million connector road and $800,000 local improvements, potentially covered by up to 90 percent federal aid.

Ron Oester, 22, from Mt. Washington, joins the Cincinnati Reds after stellar Withrow High School and Indianapolis season play.
