Mt Washington remembers Lester Emrick longtime principal
Services were held Saturday for Lester N. Pop Emrick 73 who died May 2 while working in a garden. A Mt Washington School retiree and former principal, he led the district’s Best Years program, organized 18 softball teams, supervised Coney Island pool operations, and served as Preble County schools superintendent. He taught at Lincoln and Mt Washington Schools and helped relieve overcrowding during kindergarten through eighth grade era. He leaves wife Helen, daughter Betty Prenosil, two step-daughters, a sister, and four grandchildren.

Live Oaks campus dedication plan targets high officials
Federal officials near the President will be invited to the Live Oaks Career Development Campus dedication in late September or early October. The event, planned by the Great Oaks Joint Vocational District board, may mirror dedications at Diamond Oaks and Scarlet Oaks campuses.
