Hovis seeks reelection as Anderson Township trustee

Bartels Road Reconstruction Delayed Despite Cost Saving

Trustees hear Bartels Road repair will cost about $26 000 for blacktopping with bids required for road work over 5000 per mile. Mt Washington Fourth of July Parade in Mt. Washington

Mt. Washington Junior Women's Club plans the annual Fourth of July parade with a 10 a.m. start at Stanbery Park. The route travels Oxford Sutton Benniville Mears to Mt. Washington Elementary School where a baby center and awards will follow. Notable entrants include antique cars Cincinnati Councilman Thomas Luken and local drum corps.

Greased pig contest set for Anderson Hills Kiwanis rodeo

Anderson Kiwanis sponsors first annual Pig Rodeo at 7 30 p m July 27 at Anderson High Brown Stadium to raise funds for youth activities. Event features greased pig contest greased pole climb door prizes and performances by Summit Saubers Clermont Clippers and Forestettes with trophies for knothole league champions.

Forest Hills School Board Hears 1974 Budget Plan

Forest Hills Board of Education held a public hearing on the 1974 budget. Key figures show tax duplicates rising to 144 million, operating mills to 31.61, and a projected deficit of about 195 thousand as expenses climb to 7.95 million. Salaries remain the largest cost at 6.03 million with teachers receiving 3.6 million. several staff changes and lunch price increases are proposed, plus a sale of 1973 building program bonds.

Forest Hills School District to relocate offices

Forest Hills School District business offices will move from the administration building to the former multimedia center in Anderson Middle School. The move is planned within the next couple of weeks and will last until 1975.

July 3 1973 report notes bids to build a new administration building were rejected due to high costs. The district plans to use the old White building for administration after Ed Hoffer’s appointment as personnel director.

Forest Hills kids enjoy extensive summer recreation program

Forest Hills School District runs a large summer recreation program directed by Carl Seymour with about 2500 children. Elementary activities span five schools for ages 5 to 13, while Anderson Middle School hosts teenagers 14 to 17 with sports, swimming, bowling, and a golf instruction session. A Bengal training camp trip is planned for July.
