The Scarlet and Black and the Iowa College Glee Club with Amphion Orchestra drew a large Newton audience despite bad weather. The night featured Handel to Gounod with the Largo praised as especially moving. The glee club impressed as well rehearsed, with encores and praise for whistler E. Harris while a Churchill box party followed with a reception.

Baby bitten by dog and new transfer drivers named
George Maund's two month old son Fred suffered severe facial bites after approaching a feeding dog. The dog, a family pet, leaped and injured the child. a doctor treated him and no serious harm is feared. Mr Maund killed the dog to prevent further danger.
