Declaration of Principles at Des Moines Convention
Journal notes the Des Moines Grand Convention with speeches by Allison Wear Kende Hepburn and McPherson, praising the platform on money and claiming strong support for a gold silver and paper currency mix. It covers balloting for state offices, nominations for Supreme Judge and Secretary of State, and recounts a robust audience response and the wariness toward silver standard advocates.
