Vacation Granted Reverend Willits Leaves July
Reverend John C. Willits of the First church receives a July vacation from the official board and departs Monday evening with Mrs. Willits. Grandmother Willits of Mt. Pleasant cares for the parsonage and children. They plan to visit Duluth Chicago and other points with much time aboard Great Lakes steamers. During absence the pulpit will be filled each Sunday morning with no evening services except next Sunday's union service.

Rainy Show Day Draws Town to Wallace Circus
Rain failed to keep locals from Wallace's circus and menagerie last Saturday as crowds filled streets and tents. The show drew thousands from across the county, with afternoon and evening performances praised as first class. Earlier, H D McKinney neighbors gathered to plow his corn, each contributing a dollar after the task. A long list of helpers joined in the effort. The W R C Tree Sociable at Jonny Lister’s home drew a large crowd, with Lottie Rommel winning a china plate in the Tyee guessing contest and Robbie Rommel receiving the boobs prize after no one claimed it. Refreshments featured cee coffee prepared by Lister.
