Judge Edgar C. Bennett, former district jurist, dies at 79
Edgar C. Bennett, 79, longtime judge and former Kansas legislator, died at Bethel Deaconess Hospital. He served in World War I, practiced law in Osborne and Marysville, and spent 20 years on the 21st Judicial District bench. He chaired state legal groups and led local chambers before his death. Survivors include his wife Mary Prudence and a daughter. Private interment will follow a 2 p.m. Thursday funeral at Petersen Chapel. A memorial fund supports Washburn University School of Law.
