Disney World at 20: boomtown growth and growing pains
Florida's Magic Kingdom opened in 1971 and grew into a multibillion dollar resort. The two decades brought traffic, crowded schools, and utilities strain, prompting cooperation with Osceola and Orange counties. Disney faces housing, roads, wetlands, and environmental rules via Reedy Creek. Celeb ration aims to expand with a $2 billion new town over 25 years, while leaders praise jobs and tourism-driven growth and manage impacts.

Amtrak crowns chef of the year for improved dining
Luis Pena, 35, of Los Angeles, named Amtrak chef of the year after winning a two day competition at the Culinary Institute of America Hyde Park. Pena earned the honor by presenting a gourmet lunch from a mystery basket while on long distance trains. Amtrak says dining cars now offer hot meals with better tableware and prices from 4 to 13 dollars, though day coaches still use microwaved meals.
