Farmer dies in tractor mishap near Unionville

A 68 year old Frederick County farmer, Paul Francis Brunner of Mount Pleasant, died Friday night from injuries after a tractor pulling a grain drill struck a buried boulder on a field along Woodville Road south of Unionville. The International Harvester tractor veered over a hill, came to rest near a tree, and Brunner was flown to MIEMS where he died. The accident occurred on a farm leased by Ray Matthews Jr. Brunner was planting barley at the time. Investigation continues as local responders assisted at the scene.
