Lakehurst N J Sept 30 Commander Lansdowne held Shenandoah on course despite aerologist Lieut Anderson warning of storm. He declined to turn south citing lack of immediate signal. Witness said a southeast course might have helped but all officers disagreed due to storm clouds. Court received telegram from Lansdowne widow and named Heinen as forthcoming witness. Investigators may move to Washington after current witnesses.

Raids on Moonshiners Net Four Arrests in County
Federal agents raided moonshine operations across Washington county over two days, seizing five stills and destroying thousands of gallons of mash. Four men were captured, including Wilmore Willard near Tanta and Ernest Long, Andrew Black, and Lester Holmes. Community plants operated across Mt Briar area, with one carbon burner still reported. The arrestees will appear before U S Commissioner Alexander R Hagner in the coming days.
