London officials, reassured by President Wilson’s peace stance, expect the United States to bring the war to a close under terms ensuring permanent European peace. They believe US influence will lead to arbitration of future disputes and prevent a recurrence of war.
In Willamdport Sept Jn Mrs William Hwari wife of an EEraper jum Jumbd Katy died at Cit hospital Lére from injuries after an automatic accident. Mrs Jos at Howar wife of a Cameron county assemblyman died in the same hospital from injuries in the same crash. The machine skidded and plunged over a forty foot embankment.
Antwerp dispatch reports German bombardment and the capture of Malines nine miles south of the city. German officers allegedly say they can take Antwerp when ready. Forts at Wavre St Catherine and Waelbem shelled with limited results. Alost suffers shelling. burgomaster remains at post amid battle.
A Central News dispatch from Amsterdam reports Zoprelic dirigibles dropping bombs on Deynze near Ghent and Threst near Brussels, damaging the St Vincent convent at Deynze. A separate Petrograd dispatch says a bomb hit a Bielostok school, killing eleven children. A German aeroplane over Paris was shot down near Montgeron, its pilot killed.
A Belgian doctor recently released from Brussels claims Prince Adalbert the Kaiser's third son died in a Brussels hospital from a German bullet. He says Dr Le Page, Albert's physician, ordered an autopsy in the presence of two German doctors. Other examined officers reportedly died from German bullets. The informant urges caution in accepting the claim.

Florence Cope eighteen daughter of Clinnton Cope on Edward M Paxson estate Buckington shot by her uncle John Cope who was intoxicated and fled. A posse searched woods and corn fields but no capture yet. Cope had threatened the family and Mrs Cope before firing in their Buckington home.
